Skippack Township set to unveil new inclusive playground at Palmer Park
Ribbon-cutting celebration Friday will feature music, giveaways and family-friendly activities at accessible new play space

Skippack Township officials will officially open the township’s new inclusive playground at Palmer Park on Friday afternoon with a community celebration focused on accessibility, recreation and family connection.
The grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Friday at Palmer Park and will include music, giveaways and free water ice as residents gather to explore the newly completed playground.
Township officials said the project was designed in partnership with Recreation Resource using inclusive play equipment manufactured by Burke. The playground was created to provide an accessible and welcoming environment for children and families of all abilities while encouraging sensory play, interaction and shared experiences across age groups.
Among the centerpiece attractions is the Volta Inclusive Spinner, a ground-level accessible spinner that allows children with varying mobility needs to play together. The playground also features the Konnection Swing, designed to allow adults and children to swing face-to-face, and the Innova Rocking Bridge, which promotes teamwork, balance and coordination through collaborative play.
Officials additionally highlighted Burke’s 360 Loop 10-foot Slide, which includes specially positioned handrails intended to help children with different physical abilities independently access the elevated slide experience.
Township leaders said the project reflects Skippack’s ongoing effort to expand inclusive recreational opportunities throughout the community and create spaces where all families feel welcome.
Community members, families and local officials are expected to attend Friday’s ribbon cutting as the township officially opens what leaders describe as one of its newest recreational destinations.
