The Rotary, along with Perkiomen Valley School District, are rallying volunteers to help enhance and maintain two unique outdoor learning environments — Lenape Arboretum and Muhlenberg Woods
Nature lovers and community champions are invited to roll up their sleeves for an exciting initiative that combines environmental stewardship with hands-on service.
The Collegeville Rotary, in partnership with the Perkiomen Valley School District, is rallying volunteers to help enhance and maintain two unique outdoor learning environments — Lenape Arboretum and Muhlenberg Woods.
This project, fueled by a newly awarded district grant, is on a fast track to make a meaningful impact, and the call for help is urgent. Volunteers can choose to participate on one or more of the following days:
Participants will work at PVSD’s two accredited arboretum sites — Lenape Arboretum, located behind Middle School East, and Muhlenberg Woods, beside Middle School West. Together, these two sites span 76 acres of rich, educational woodland, offering immersive outdoor experiences for students and the community alike.
What makes this project particularly special is PVSD’s pioneering status – it is the first K–12 public school district in Pennsylvania to have an accredited arboretum, and the only K–12 school in the world to operate two.
To join this effort, volunteers must complete the PVSD Volunteer Interest Form and ensure that all required volunteer clearances are submitted to mwolf@pvsd.org, as outlined in the PVSD Volunteer Procedures.
With your help, the Collegeville Rotary and PVSD can continue to grow these living classrooms into thriving ecosystems for generations to come.
