Pennsylvania State Police announced the checkpoint over the weekend
The Pennsylvania State Police have announced a sobriety checkpoint to be conducted in Perkiomen Township later this week.
The checkpoint will be set up on Gravel Pike (Route 29), east of Plank Road, and will operate from 11 p.m. on Friday, through 3 a.m. Saturday.
The purpose of the checkpoint is to identify and remove impaired drivers from the road, with the broader goal of ensuring safe travel throughout Montgomery County, police said. The operation is part of ongoing enforcement efforts to reduce the dangers posed by driving under the influence and to promote public safety on local roadways.
Motorists traveling through the area during the scheduled hours may experience delays and should be prepared to encounter police activity.
