Locally-popular breakfast and brunch destination Sammy’s Bullfrog Café at 282 Hunsberger Lane in the Harleysville section of Lower Salford, rated 4.8 out of 5 stars on Google Reviews by more than 790 customers, scored a near-perfect Montgomery County food safety inspection report last week.
The eatery nearly passed all food safety and food handling inspections with flying colors – save for an obstructed hand sink – during a May 1 routine inspection by the Montgomery County Department of Health.
Opened in October 2019 alongside Bullfrog Creek in the former Castello’s Pizzeria location, Sammy’s Bullfrog Café offers homestyle, eclectic breakfast and lunch fare, made with locally-sourced products. The café is a BYOB establishment, according to its website.
It posts its daily menus to its Facebook page. Two recent menus offered items such as Cinnamon Chip French Toast, Buttermilk Chicken & Waffles, Chicken Salad Bowl, Bruschetta Eggs Benedict, Homemade Tres Leches Cake, Sweet Potato BLT, Local Mushroom Toast, Lemon Poppy French Toast, Rib Eye Omelette, Stuffed Sourdough French Toast, Peach Cobbler Cakes, Egg Roll Breakfast, Boardwalk Grilled Cheese, and Maryland Crab Fritters.
Owners Sam Fuerst, former head chef at The Energy Station, and Kayla Keck recently opened a second location called Elevated Eats, up the street inside The Vault at 483 Main Street in Harleysville, specializing in gourmet sandwiches, wings, cheesesteaks, burgers, and other creative eats. Elevated Eats is next to the new Neshaminy Creek Brewing Company - Harleysville.
Sammy’s Bullfrog Café is open Monday to Thursday, 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., Friday and Saturday 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Sunday 8 a.m. to noon. Contact them at 215-256-1001. It offers dine-in, outdoor seating, and curbside pickup.
