The Truist Championship is being played at Wissahickon Course at the Philadelphia Cricket Club in 2025, marking the first year the event is being held in Flourtown, Pa.
The Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce gave these details on the tournament making an appearance in the area this year:
"The 2025 Truist Championship’s Philadelphia location is part of Truist Financial Corporation’s (Truist’s) deal with PGA TOUR as the championship’s new title sponsor. Typically, the annual championship is held at Quail Hollow Club in North Carolina, where it will return next year.
"This year’s Philadelphia stop reflects Truist’s strong presence in the Greater Philadelphia region as the region’s eighth-largest bank, with over 66 branches currently operating in southeastern Pennsylvania, South Jersey, and Delaware."
After the opening round, American Keith Mitchell is leading the pack:
1. Keith Mitchell: -9
2. Denny McCarthy: -8
3. Rickie Fowler: -7
4. Collin Morikawa: -7
5. Sepp Straka: -7
Rory McIlroy, the tournament's defending champion, shot a -4 Thursday.
