 Springtime in the Philadelphia region means there are more opportunities to enjoy outdoor activities, and this week is just the beginning. From the Subaru Cherry Blossom Festival of Greater Philadelphia to early Easter celebrations and exercise for your favorite canine, there are plenty of reasons to get outside and grab some sunshine.

The Subaru Cherry Blossom Festival is back so grab family and friends to enjoy this special time of year.

The Lansdale Public Library is hosting a special event for the littlest bookworms and in Ambler all the kids can enjoy an early Easter egg hunt.

This week you can indulge your inner artist at a special introduction to watercolor in Schwenksville and support youth arts by attending a show at Central Bucks High School East.

Bring your furry best friend out for some exercise at an agility run-through in Willow Grove and don’t miss all the great live music in the area.


Subaru Cherry Blossom Festival of Greater Philadelphia

On Saturday, Apr. 5 and Sunday, Apr. 6, the Japan America Society of Greater Philadelphia will again be hosting the Subaru Cherry Blossom Festival of Greater Philadelphia. The centerpiece of the celebration is the blooming of the 1,600 cherry trees originally planted in 1926.

While there are events scheduled all month long in Philadelphia, there is a special two-day ticketed Sakura Weekend held outside the Fairmount Park Horticulture Center and Centennial Arboretum. Come enjoy a weekend full of music, dancing, cultural activities and of course lots of cherry trees.

Little Bookworm Storytime at Lansdale Public Library

On Friday, Apr. 4, 11 a.m., the Lansdale Public Library is hosting Little Bookworm Storytime for the littlest story lovers, ages birth to 3. All though all ages are certainly welcome.

Come out for an hour of stories, songs and fun for you and your little ones.

Intro to Watercolor at Engage Art Studio

On Tuesday, Apr. 1, 7 p.m., Engage Art Studio in Schwenksville is offering an introduction to watercolor.

The two-hour lesson that focuses on how to paint spring birds runs every Tuesday for a month. You will be taught the basics of observational painting and shading. No experience is necessary.

Broadway Musical ANASTASIA at Central Bucks East

From Thursday, Apr. 3 through Sunday April 6, Central Bucks High School East will be presenting the new Broadway musical ANASTASIA.

The musical is based on the 20th Century Fox Animation 1997 film of the same name that brings to life the legend of the Grand Duchess Anastasia Nikolaevna of Russia who was rumored to have escaped the execution of her family.

Easter Egg Hunt by Ambler Kiwanis

On Saturday, Apr. 5, 10 a.m. bring the kids out for an Easter Egg Hunt by the Kiwanis Club of Ambler in Riccardi Park.

The children will hunt in age-appropriate groups with the youngest going first. Every child will leave with any chocolate and candy they find and a special treat bag.

The Easter Bunny will make an appearance, so it is also a perfect photo opportunity. The event is free, but donations are accepted.

Agility Run-Throughs at Y2K9s

On Sunday, Apr. 6, 9:30 a.m. bring your furry best friend out for some exercise at the Agility Run-Throughs at Y2K9s Dog Sports & Training Club.

Dogs must be 15 months to participate.

There will be 3 runs per three “rounds’ and a 50-dog cap per round. There will be no judging or scoring. A quick briefing will be held at 9:15 a.m. so get there early.

FM Connection Duo at The Patio at Horsham

On Friday, Apr. 4, 6 p.m. come celebrate the Opening Night at The Patio at Horsham with the music of the FM Connection Duo.

The FM Connection Duo and Trio play all the hits from classic rock to country as The Patio officially opens for the 2025 season.
