Pennsylvania State Police at Skippack are investigating a report of forgery and counterfeiting involving an Upper Salford Township victim and a washed check.

Police said troopers received a report on March 17 at 1:16 p.m. from a 65-year-old resident of Old Sumneytown Pike, who informed them that an unknown person stole a check, removed the payee and payment amount and then rewrote the check for $6,910.

The investigation is ongoing.
