Michael Tyrone Carroll, of Philadelphia, stole the $150 from the Providence Town Center store, police allege
A Philadelphia man with two prior retail theft convictions has been charged for a third offense – a felony – after allegedly stealing a $150 Breville brand juicer from Home Goods in Upper Providence Township.
Michael Tyrone Carroll, 42, of the 6200 block of Larchwood Avenue, was charged March 19 by Upper Providence Township Police with two felony counts of retail theft and misdemeanor receiving stolen property for the incident that occurred March 14 at the 400 Front Street store, police said.
On March 14 at 6:25 p.m., police were called to Home Goods for a retail theft that occurred two hours earlier at the Providence Town Center location. Asset protection told police that a man, identified as Carroll, entered the store at 4:09 p.m., and selected the juicer from the kitchen and appliance section, police allege.
Carroll allegedly removed the spider wrap anti-theft device from the box, before walking to the front of the store, where he attempted to return the item without a receipt.
Police said Carroll was told he cold only get store credit, at which time, he exited the store with the juicer, without paying.
He then entered a black Jeep Cherokee with New York plates in the parking lot, police said.
All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using public court records.
