It appears Citizens Bank Park has been further digitalized

When the Phillies welcome the Colorado Rockies to Citizens Bank Park for their home opener on March 31, you might notice something different at the stadium that the Phillies have called home now for more than two decades.

Phillies Nation's Destiny Lugardo pointed out that based off of a video shared on X Friday, it appears that Citizens Bank Park will now have digital screens behind home plate:

For reference, here's what it looked like behind home plate last season:

Prior to last season, Citizens Bank Park changed the out-of-town scoreboard in right field to a digital one, a controversial decision that disappointed many fans. (The first picture is the new digital scoreboard, the second picture is the old one.)

What ended up happening for much of last year is the Phillies would show some scores on the out-of-town scoreboard, but they mixed in some advanced statistics and many ads. Ultimately, every inch of Citizens Bank Park is going to be monetized.

The Phillies will have a scoreboard in left field, the out-of-town scoreboard in right field and the new boards behind the plate all less than five years old when they host the All-Star Game in July of 2026. It will certainly look modern, though you do wonder sometimes if the park is losing a little bit of its charm by making everything digital.
