Upper Providence Township Police are investigating a report of a possible attempted child luring Tuesday night in the area of Thornhill Drive and Longford Road.
Police said officers met with the child and their mother, who reported that their child was outside playing at 6:45 p.m., when a gold-colored SUV, possibly a Toyota Highlander, with an American flag on the rear passenger side trunk area pulled over to where the child was playing.
A white male driver in his 60s and balding waved the child over to the SUV, police said. According to the child, the man did not say anything, only waved.
The child did not go to the SUV and instead went to tell their mother.
When the mother came outside, the vehicle left on Thornhill Drive, drove through the neighborhood, and exited onto Longford Road, police said.
Anyone living in the area with surveillance footage from a Ring camera or other device is asked to review the footage and contact police at 610-933-7899 with any information.
Authorities ask residents to contact police if they saw a vehicle matching the description in the area or if they have any information that may help the investigation.
