The event will be Monday night during the Fire Company’s monthly meeting at the Perkiomen Township Fire Station
The Perkiomen Township Fire Company will recognize two firefighters for decades of volunteer service.
The two volunteers will be recognized by Fire Company President Brad Bonner, the officers and members of the Perkiomen Township Fire Company, as well as veteran and State Sen. Tracy Pennycuick (R-24th Dist.), who is also scheduled to present a proclamation.
The event will be during the Fire Company’s monthly meeting at the Perkiomen Township Fire Station at 485 Gravel Pike, Collegeville, PA 19426, on Monday, March 10, at 7 p.m.
William “Bill” Patterson has 62 years of volunteer service. Patterson joined the fire company in 1953. He will be 80 years old on April 2. Patterson worked as an Emergency Dispatcher for Montgomery County. He is a former school bus driver for Student Transportation Inc.. In 2021, Patterson was inducted into Student Transportation’s National Safety Hall of Fame.
Patterson is a US Army veteran who has served as Fire Chief, Lieutenant and Safety Officer and is the fire company’s current Treasurer. He organizes all Fire Prevention visits to schools and daycares in the township. Patterson has been a line officer from 1969 through 2023 (for 54 years!).
Rocco “Rocky” Capobianco has 40 years of volunteer service. Capobianco joined the fire company in 1985. In addition to his 40 years of volunteer service, Capobianco will turn 89 on Monday, March 10. He worked as a shipper for Stroehmann Bros in Conshohocken. Capobianco was a member of the Hancock Fire Company in Norristown (Station 27) from 1971 to 1985.
Capobianco is a US Navy Veteran who has a combined 54 years as a firefighter in Montgomery County.
The public is invited to attend the ceremony.
