The derby is open to all youth, and families are encouraged to attend.
State Sen. Tracy Pennycuick has announced her 4th annual youth fishing derby at a new location — Camp Wawa Park in Schwenksville.
The event, scheduled for Saturday, April 12, from 9 to 11 a.m., aims to promote outdoor recreation, environmental education, and family engagement, according to a press release from Pennycuick’s office.
“I am excited to once again host this annual event, which provides young anglers and their families with an opportunity to enjoy Pennsylvania’s natural resources,” said Pennycuick. “In addition to fishing, participants will have the chance to learn about our state’s diverse wildlife and the importance of conservation.”
The derby is open to all youth, and families are encouraged to attend. Whether experienced anglers or first-time fishers, all participants are welcome. Attendees are advised to bring their own fishing poles and bait to fully engage in the event, said the release.
“This derby is a wonderful opportunity for families to get outside, enjoy nature, and learn more about our local wildlife and conservation efforts,” said Pennycuick. “I look forward to welcoming everyone for a memorable morning of fishing and learning.”
