At least four Perkiomen Valley eateries – including three chain restaurants – had no serious food handling violations in their recent Montgomery County Office of Public Health food safety inspections this month.
Jamison Sumneytown Hotel, 3188 Main St., in Marlborough Township (GPS: Green Lane), had no food handling or food storage issues, but rather issues with a plumbing leak at a sink and an improper air gap at another sink, during a June 2 inspection.
The award-winning hotel, established in 1762, offers food, drinks, live music, and company. It is open Monday-Thursday, 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.; and closed Sunday. Lunch begins at 11:30 a.m., dinner begins at 4 p.m., bar stools are first come-first serve. Contact them for reservations at 215-377-9114.

PrimoHoagies, located at 1461 Gravel Pike, in Lower Frederick Township (GPS: Perkiomenville), and run by Niko Dasilvio, had no violations at the time of its inspection on June 10, according to the health reports. It did get a demerit for improper lighting in a walk-in cooler.
The specialty sandwich spot – check out a menu here – is open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. The South Philadelphia-born PrimoHoagies and its numerous locations were voted “Best Sandwich Shop in America” by USA Today in 2023 and 2024. You can even ship hoagies with them. In Upper Providence Township, at the Providence Town Center shopping plaza, both Red Robin and Panera Bread Collegeville had no violations reported during their June 9 inspections.

Two popular locations in Pennsburg Borough – The New Pennsburg Diner at 321 Pottstown Ave. and Publication Brew Works at 10 4th St. – had no food handling violations at the time of inspection. However, the diner was marked for an ice cream scooper stored in stagnant water between uses at its June 12 inspection, per the report.
According to its website, the family-owned diner has been serving the local Perkiomen Valley and Pennsburg area communities since 1981, providing a warm family atmosphere. The diner is ranked 4.4/5 stars on Google Reviews from more than 1,300 reviews.
It offers a variety of menu items, from breakfast served all day and lunch specials, to steaks and seafood. See The New Pennsburg Diner’s breakfast menu here. The diner is closed Tuesday, but open 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. the other six days of the week.
Publication Brew Works, as its name suggests, opened its taproom in the old Town & Country newspaper building in the heart of the borough. The building was built in 1913, had life as a newspaper printing shop, then design office and workshop, before Publication took over. The owners renovated the basement into a combination brewery and taproom, but kept the old materials and aesthetics of the historical site.
The brewery has at least nine taps, and food and cocktails. It also holds Trivia Nights, Music Bingo nights, and Thirsty Thursday specials. Publication Brew Works is open Thursday 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday noon to 10 p.m., and Sunday noon to 8 p.m. Parking is on-street, or at the public parking lot next to Rite Aid, or on-street parking outside Red Hill Grinding Mill.
