Everyone can help mitigate the increasing amount of anticipated stormwater
The public is invited to attend a virtual meeting on Wednesday to learn about the findings and recommendations of the "Perkiomen Mapping & Flood Mitigation Study" as it nears completion.
The meeting will be offered at 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Both meetings will share the same content.
These meetings will provide an opportunity for anyone interested in reducing damaging floods in our watershed communities to learn about the plan and how they can help. Those attending will hear about study objectives, preliminary results and recommendations. Public input and understanding of this effort are integral to its success.
The study, which includes identifying significant flooding locations, modeling the watershed, developing conceptual solutions, and engaging the public, is being led by Representative Joe Webster's office and the Montgomery County Planning Commission (MCPC).
As storms become more frequent and severe, bringing with them extreme flooding and costly damage, the study aims to better understand flooding across the Perkiomen watershed and identify the types of actions needed to protect communities. The Perkiomen Mapping & Flood Mitigation Study is the first phase of a long-term effort to help communities make more informed decisions regarding how and where to best implement stormwater management systems and projects.
Everyone can help mitigate the increasing amount of anticipated stormwater.
