After a three-hour, 35-minute rain delay, the Phillies took the field at Rate Field in Chicago. The White Sox's hit parade that followed wasn't exactly enjoyable to watch.
Kyle Teel gave the White Sox a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second with a solo homer off of Taijuan Walker:

After a quiet first three innings, the Phillies' bats came alive in the top of the fourth. Four consecutive hits by Bryce Harper, Nick Castellanos, Brandon Marsh and Otto Kemp led to RBI singles by Castellanos and Kemp, and the Phillies took a 2-1 lead on Kemp's single:

Unfortunately, after that fourth inning, the bats fell back asleep. Those four hits were the only ones registered by the Phillies until the top of the eighth.
Walker also allowed a solo home run to White Sox rookie Colson Montgomery in the bottom of the fourth. Overall, Walker had a solid-if-unspectacular outing: he went five innings, earning two runs (both homers) and allowing seven hits with no strikeouts or walks.
The game remained tied at 2-2 until the bottom of the seventh, when things completely fell apart for the Phils. Max Lazar entered the game and proceeded to give up seven consecutive hits, one of which was a three-run home run by Miguel Vargas:

Seth Johnson came in to relieve Lazar with runners on first and second; Johnson struck out Colson Montgomery, but then gave up the second three-run bomb of the inning to Edgar Quero:

By the end of the inning, the White Sox had batted around the order, and the Phillies found themselves in a 9-2 hole after starting the inning tied 2-2.
Bryce Harper almost cut into the White Sox's lead in the top of the eighth, but Andrew Benintendi robbed him of what would have been a three-run home run:

One of the only positives from the game was Brandon Marsh's home run in the top of the ninth. It's Marsh's second homer in as many games, and it could be a sign that he's heating up even further after turning around his dismal start to the season:

The White Sox ended the game with 17 hits. Luckily, the Phillies' bullpen was bolstered via trade today with the pickup of Jhoan Durán.
The Phillies are off Thursday and will return to Citizens Bank Park this Friday for an Alumni Weekend series against the Detroit Tigers.
