A trio of new toolkits and guides will be focused on electric vehicle charging infrastructure, overall energy conservation and efficiency, and solar energy model ordinance
The Montgomery County Planning Commission (MCPC) will unveil new toolkits designed to help municipalities tackle energy issues and encourage sustainable energy use during a free, public event from 4–6 p.m. on Thursday, July 31, at Lansdale Borough Hall. Event attendees will be among the first to see how these toolkits and model ordinances enable local leaders to take action on renewable energy infrastructure.
The event will launch a trio of new toolkits and guides focused on electric vehicle charging infrastructure, overall energy conservation and efficiency, and solar energy model ordinance. MCPC, along with Chester County and other regional partners, developed these ordinance tools to assist municipalities in regulating and incentivizing a transition to energy efficiency and renewable energy in the built environment.
This event is offered through Planning Smarter Montco 2025, an MCPC community education and outreach initiative, and aligns with the “Sustainable Places” theme of Montgomery County’s current comprehensive plan, Montco 2040: A Shared Vision.
Those attending will also have an opportunity to learn about and provide input on the County’s next comprehensive plan, Montco 2050: A Comprehensive Plan for a Changing World. This important plan, which is in the development phase, will guide overall growth and future development and help the County in making planning decisions with an outlook to the year 2050.
