A dominant outing from Ryan McMenamin and timely hitting from a balanced lineup helped Perkiomen Valley punch its ticket to the GNALBL tournament finals with a 5-0 shutout of Mount Carmel on Saturday.
McMenamin scattered six hits and struck out four in a complete-game effort, walking just one batter while keeping the No. 3 seed off the scoreboard, according to The Mercury. Back-to-back innings of scoring gave top-seeded PV full control, starting with a Trevor Peterman RBI single in the second.
The Raiders exploded for four runs in the third, taking advantage of a Mount Carmel error and adding key RBIs from Chase Neff and Dean Hollenbach, per the report. Glauner reached on another error that scored two more runs, stretching the lead to 5-0.
Perkiomen Valley now awaits JP Mascaro for Monday’s championship matchup. With the shutout win and strong offensive showing, PV remains undefeated in the postseason and firmly in control of its GNALBL title aspirations, according to the report.
