On Saturday, Root Down Brewing Co. will transform into a den of delightful doom for tribute bands playing SOAD, Misfits, Jimmy Eat World, & Stray Cats, spine-tingling vibes and costumed madness
Halloween is coming early this year — and it is kicking in the door with a blast of blood-curdling riffs, monster mosh pits and costumed chaos.
On Saturday, at 7 p.m., Root Down Brewing Company will transform into a den of delightful doom for the Pre-Halloween Tribute of Terror Blobfest Afterparty — a full-throttle night of tribute bands, spine-tingling vibes and costumed madness.
And leading the charge from the Lansdale underground is Mad Tangent, a fierce quartet of local rockers ready to resurrect the rage and fury of System Of A Down.
Mad Tangent — featuring Lansdale-area musicians Derek Calhoun, Eric Sable, Nick Grassi, and Mike Romano — will bring a jolt of nu-metal adrenaline to the stage, delivering SOAD’s political screams, serpentine rhythms, and head-spinning hooks with terrifying precision.
Whether you're a “Chop Suey!” disciple or ready to “BYOB,” this set promises to be a howling highlight of the night.
They will share the stage with Psycho ‘78, who will perform Misfits’ "Walk Among Us" in its entirety, plus a special selection of your favorite hits from Hell; Sugar On The Asphalt honoring Jimmy Eat World; and DelcoBilly repping the rockabilly stylings of Stray Cats.
DJ Sad Dad will keep the graveyard groove going between sets.
And if the music does not raise the dead, the costume contest might: the best dressed ghoul or goblin will be crowned King or Queen of Pre-Halloween — and take home a $100 cash prize judged by surprise horror-themed guests.
This afterparty is the official nightcap to Blobfest, Phoenixville’s iconic celebration of sci-fi and horror culture, hosted annually by The Colonial Theatre — made famous by the 1958 cult classic The Blob.
The event kicks off after Blobfest ends and runs all night.
The venue is open to the public, but access to the band area costs $10 (cash or Venmo).
Costumes are highly encouraged — but metal horns are mandatory.
