A 24-year-old inmate at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility is facing new charges after allegedly throwing a liquid believed to be urine at a correctional officer during an incident last month.
According to a criminal complaint filed by Montgomery County detectives, Jose Cruz-Victorino, currently housed at the county jail in Lower Providence Township, has been charged with aggravated harassment by prisoner stemming from an assault that took place on June 9, 2025, at about 1:35 p.m.
Surveillance footage reviewed by investigators shows Cruz-Victorino standing inside his locked cell in the L1 unit of the jail, watching a correctional officer, who was seated in a dayroom area about 15 to 20 feet away.
According to the report, Cruz-Victorino reached through the cell bars with his right hand and threw an object —later identified as a small iced tea carton — at the officer.
The carton struck the victim on the left side of his head, neck, face, and shoulder. The officer told investigators the liquid inside the container had a strong odor and appearance consistent with urine, not iced tea.
The officer was immediately relieved of duty, changed his clothing, and was evaluated by medical staff at the facility before being sent to an occupational health center for further decontamination and treatment.
Following an investigation led by the Montgomery County Detective Bureau, authorities concluded the assault was deliberate.
