An inmate at Montgomery County jail in Lower Providence Township and a Norristown man have been accused of attempting to hire a hitman to kill the inmate’s former girlfriend via a burner Instagram account and now face solicitation of first-degree murder and conspiracy charges.

Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele announced charges against inmate Zunir Wilson-Walker, 22, and his cousin, Jaden Uriah Jones, 20, of Norristown, Thursday morning.

According to court documents, Wilson-Walker was charged Tuesday with solicitation of first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder, felony conspiracy to commit strangulation, and felony use of a communications device. He is also charged with three misdemeanor counts of terroristic threats, two misdemeanor counts of simple assault, and misdemeanor charges of theft, stalking and possessing an instrument of crime. He was given $500,077 cash bail, which includes  parole/probation detainer, per court records.

Jones was charged with solicitation of first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and felony use of a communications device, according to court records. He was committed to Montgomery County jail on $99,000 cash bail, per court records.

On Nov. 25, Montgomery County detectives were alerted by Montgomery County Correctional Facility officials of a murder-for-hire plot, according to Steele. Officials uncovered the alleged plot while investigating the misuse of the inmate telephone system.

While investigating Wilson-Walker’s use of another inmate’s phone account, jail officials listened to recorded phone calls and heard what they believed to be solicitation of murder, before contacting county detectives, Steele said.

The investigation found that Wilson-Walker had lost his phone privileges for verbal abuse and threatening behavior on phone calls with the mother of his child, authorities said, including telling her, "When I come home, I'll blow your f------ head off."

Wilson-Walker then allegedly used his inmate-issued computer tablet to send eight harassing and threatening messages to the target, leading to suspension of his privileges.

Authorities said Wilson-Walker’s actions were in violation of a Protection From Abuse order issued in April 2023 in Philadelphia and expiring in April 2026.

On Nov. 9, at 11:50 a.m., in a recorded conversation between Wilson-Walker and Jones, the former allegedly asked the latter to create a fake Instagram account titled “walkdownmontt” and create an Instagram story that offered $15,000, a Cartier watch and a car as payment for beating up and killing the mother of his child.

Police said Wilson-Walker specifically asked Jones to create a story versus a post, so that the information was visible for 24 hours and would not attract attention of Instagram, law enforcement or the public.

In one phone call to Jones, Wilson-Walker allegedly said, “PSA, we got 15K on this b---- head. Also a plain Jane Cartier, and a Hell Cat Durango plated up if somebody handle that and whoever y’all see her with,” according to the criminal complaint.

During a call the same day, at 2:08 p.m., Wilson-Walker allegedly gave Jones the Instagram account name, police said. After investigators filed a search warrant with Meta for Instagram records related to the account, a story was found, created on Nov. 9 at 2:18 p.m., with Jones’ cell number attached to the account, police said.

At 4:28 p.m. Nov. 9, eight stories appeared on the Instagram account, which were private but visible to 18 other Instagram accounts, police said. The Instagram stories included numerous derogatory comments about the intended target, as well as her location at a specific time and date, a description of her car, her home address, and other information, police said.

The posts also offered the $15,000 cash, the jewelry and the car for the woman to “get took off the map,” authorities said.

A preliminary hearing is set for Jones for Feb. 11 at 10:30 a.m. and for Wilson-Walker at 11 a.m. before Magisterial District Judge Cathleen Kelly Rebar.

All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using public court records.
