Pennsylvania State Police out of Skippack are investigating a reported theft of a check by mail from a Skippack Township home earlier this month, in which it was altered and later cashed for $2,000.
Police said an 81-year-old resident of Twining Way reported the theft by fraudulent check on the afternoon of Jan. 15. Upon arrival to the victim’s home, he told police a check was taken from the mail, altered, and cashed months later, per the affidavit.
