The Philadelphia region is filled with plenty of fun, interactive events this week. Local musicians Joe Miralles and Tony Alosi will be setting the soundtrack to your week, while the Hiway Theater offers a special showing of Misery.

Looking for more hands-on activities? Burn some rubber at K1 Speed in Horsham or take a special wreath making class. This week you can also immerse yourself in a virtual reality dance experience.

If all this is making you hungry, be sure to stop by the Calvary Baptist Church on Saturday for pancakes.

Pancake Breakfast in Towamencin

Treat yourself and the family to a yummy pancake breakfast on Saturday, January 25 at the Calvary Baptist Church in Towamencin (GPS: Lansdale).

This special breakfast with princesses, superheroes, princes, and pirates will benefit the Calvary Baptist School’s Athletic program.

Pancakes will be served between 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Guests of all ages are encouraged to come dressed in costume. Tickets are $8 for adults, $6 for children 3-10 and free for children 2 and under.

Joe Miralles at Basta Pasta

For a night of live music and good food and drink, join local singer-songwriter Joe Miralles at Basta Pasta in Skippack Village on Friday at 6 p.m. Miralles was the lead singer of the Philadelphia band The Bathers whose music was featured in the movie Wide Awake by M. Night Shymalan.

Tony Alosi at Maxwell’s On Main

Tony Alosi is another favorite Philadelphia musician, performing in the tri-state area for over twenty years. On Sunday, January 26, he is bringing his signature acoustic sound to Maxwell’s On Main starting at noon. Come in for some craft beer and the tasty dishes of Chef Bobby and stay for the music. Alosi released a new single in December called “It Is What It Is (It ain’t what it ain’t)”.

Cork Wreath Class at Stone & Key Cellars

Stone & Key Cellars in Ambler is hosting a special Heart-Shaped Wreath-Making Class on Sunday, January 26 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the tasting room.

Tickets are $25. You can bring your own corks or Stone & Key will provide them for you. Enjoy a glass of wine or cider while you create your own masterpiece.

Horror at the Hiway: Misery (1990)

The popular theater in Jenkintown is continuing its Horror at the Hiway series with a showing of the Stephen King adaptation Misery (1990) on Friday at 9:45 p.m.

In this adaptation, James Caan plays a famous author who is rescued from a car crash by one of his biggest fans played by Kathy bates. What seems like good fortune at first quickly turns sinister as Bates’s character holds him captive in order to play out her twisted fantasies.

Staff from Human Robot will be in the lobby selling beer during the show. Use your ticket stub to get $5 drafts.

Koros VR Experience at Penn Arts Live

Agora del la danse theater company wants you to fully immerse yourself in contemporary dance through the magic of virtual reality. During the company’s Koros VR Experience this weekend, you will feel like you are right there on stage with the dancers as they perform three works: The Complex Simplicity of Love, Allegro Barbaro and 6.58 manifesto.

After the show, stay for drinks and discussion at the lobby bar. Performances will be running all weekend from Friday, January 24 until Sunday, January 26.
