It’s OK to admit it. If you are unclear about how county-level government works, you are not alone. Somehow, most middle school civics classes seem to skip over that level of government. Yet, it includes a variety of positions that not only impact your life as an adult resident in Montgomery County, Pa., but also can assist you in a number of ways. From obtaining a dog license, to filing for a Protection from Abuse, there are a multitude of reasons that you will, at one time or another, need the aid of these crucial individuals.
Specifically, we have taken the series entitled “Managing Montco” to educate all on these specific people, their roles in the county, who they are, and what they do. To begin, we’ve outlined the three Montgomery County Commissioners and their role in leading county government. From there, we explored each of the nine different Row Offices, or another term for elected officials, to better create an understanding of their positions.
