Man scammed out of nearly half million in crypto via dating app thief, police say

Pennsylvania State Police at Skippack reported last week that a Red Hill Borough Man was scammed out of more than $450,000 in cryptocurrency inn November by someone on a dating app.

Police said the 65-year-old male victim of the 600 block of Jefferson Street, reported that the theft and wire fraud occurred Nov. 18, totaling $458,208 in stolen cryptocurrency.

The investigation is ongoing.
