Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the use of a counterfeit $100 bill in a successful transaction of nourishing oil at a salon academy in Trappe Borough.

Police said last week that troopers were dispatched to The Salon Professional Academy at 130 W. Main St. on Dec. 3 at 2 p.m. for a counterfeit $100 bill being passed at the shop.

Police said the thief – of which no detail was provided – purchased a $25 bottle of Mizani 25 Miracle nourishing oil with the $100 and received $75 change.

The investigation is ongoing.
