2 patients taken by air, 2 by ground EMS after car crashes into tree Saturday night

A JeffStat Air Ambulance helicopter from Jefferson Lansdale and a University of Pennsylvania Medical Center PennSTAR medical transport helicopter have been called to the scene for direct fly of two patients following a single vehicle crash with entrapment of four people on the 300 block of Hopwood Road in Upper Providence Township, due to the car being wedged between two trees. 

    


Friendship Fire Co. Ambulance and Lower Providence Community Center Ambulance have each transported a patient as well to area trauma centers.

 Both helicopter units are used for rapid transport of critical care and trauma-related patients in accidents. Both medical transport units arrived at 10:50 p.m., per Montgomery County emergency dispatch. By 11 p.m., both copters were in the air and both ambulances had arrived at their locations.

A tree is also down in the roadway due to the crash near Route 113 and Chinaberry Lane. 

Responding units include Collegeville Fire Co., Upper Providence Fire, Trappe Fire Co., Black Rock Vol. Fire Co., Royersford Fire Department, Lower Providence Fire Department, Lower Providence Community Center Ambulance, Friendship Fire Co. Ambulance of Royersford, and Freedom Valley Medical Rescue.
