As the members of the Lions Club have aged, they find they are unable to do all the preparations themselves.
The Collegeville Lions Club Easter Egg Hunt has been a cherished tradition in our community for over 60 years. Each year, from 300 to 500 children from newborn to 11 and their parents attend the event, scheduled this year for Friday, April 18 at 10 a.m. sharp at Waterworks Park.
But now as the members of the Lions Club have aged, they find they are unable to do all the preparations themselves. For the first time, they are seeking donations and sponsorships from community members and local businesses to defray the costs of the pre-filled eggs and other provisions.
The Lions Club members would be very grateful for any monetary contributions that individuals and businesses would like to make. They will recognize all their supporters on their written materials, signage, and announcements at the Egg Hunt. Your generosity will not only help cover the costs of the event, but will also demonstrate your commitment to our community in creating joyful experiences for our local families.
Donation checks can be made out to “Collegeville Lions Club” and can be mailed to Board Member John Knighton, 134 Buckwalter Road, Royersford, PA 19468.
For more information or questions, please contact Knighton at jknighton134@comcast.net or call 610-329-2786.
There will be updated information on the Egg Hunt on the Lions Club website closer to the date.
If you have a child who is blind or sight-impaired, the Collegeville Lions have our specially designed "beeper eggs" to allow your child to join the fun. Email the club at collegeville.lions@verizon.net to pre-arrange for beeper eggs.
