A Reading man walked into Pennsylvania State Police headquarters last month and admitted to raping and sexually assaulting two young sisters between 2006 and 2010 at an apartment complex in Lansdale Borough.

John Randall Scott, 45, of the 1000 block of Franklin Street, waived all 147 charges filed against him by Lansdale Borough detectives to Montgomery County Common Pleas Court at a preliminary hearing Wednesday

Scott is charged with 70 felony counts of rape of a child, 70 felony counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child,  two felony counts of indecent assault on a person under 13 years old, felony intimidating a victim to refrain from reporting to police, two misdemeanor counts of corruption of minors, and two misdemeanor counts of endangering the welfare of children, according to the affidavit.

According to the affidavit, Scott “wanted to confess due to feelings of stress and guilt, and added people were talking about the incident and wanted to provide the correct information.”

Scott allegedly confessed to raping a 6-year-old girl 14 years ago. Scott told authorities the second victim was around age 2 or 3 at the time of the assaults, police said.

In a Jan. 28, 2025 interview with police, the victim, now 20-years-old, told police that Scott would sexually assault her and her sister when their mother would leave for work, according to the affidavit. The victim told police Scott would assault her “pretty much on a weekly basis,” per the complaint.

Scott, police allege, would abuse the mother, but she was unaware of Scott’s alleged abuse of her daughters. Police allege Scott would threaten to harm the victim’s cats and told her if she told anyone then she would have to talk to the police and go to jail.

“(The victim) knew when Scott was drinking beer at his computer something was going to happen to her,” police allege in the affidavit.

On Feb. 3, 2025, the second victim was interviewed by police, when she relayed alleged abuses by Scott, including once when he held her down and used a fork to shove eggs down her throat to the point where she was choking, per the complaint.

The second victim told investigators that Scott would tell her not to tell anyone their secrets and not to let her mother know what they did in the bedroom, police said.

Scott is at Montgomery County jail on $2 million cash bail and will be formally arraigned in county court in April.

All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using public court records.
