Man accused of shoplifting more than $1,300 in merchandise from Target, police say

A Sharon Hill, Pa. man has been charged with felony retail theft and criminal conspiracy and misdemeanor receiving stolen property after he allegedly stole more than $1,300 in merchandise from Target in Upper Providence Township three months ago.

On Nov. 24 at 4 p.m., police were called to the Target in the Oaks section of the township for the report of two thefts that occurred days prior, per the complaint.

When police arrived, asset protection handed police an envelope containing a USB flash drive with an incident report, still photos, video surveillance and an itemized receipt for stolen merchandise, police said.

While reviewing footage, police allege Kevin Antonio Pope Jr., 19, of the 1100 block of Spring Street, was caught on surveillance selecting items throughout the store and then leaves the store without paying.

All in all, $1,314.14 in items were stolen, police said.

All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using public court records.
