Student athletes on the award-winning Perkiomen Valley High School baseball and softball teams went home with another accolade last week.

The Perkiomen Valley School Board recognized students at the Aug. 4 board work session for their accomplishments, alongside head coaches Ryan Hinkle and Mikey Marsilio and their dedicated and respective coaching staffs.

Perkiomen Valley baseball captured its first-ever PAC Championship in its 2025 season. Meanwhile, Perkiomen Valley softball earned back-to-back titles as PAC2PAC champions in 2024 and 2025.

“Thank you to our student athletes, families, and coaches being here, as we recognize the wonderful job our baseball and softball teams did this season,” said district Executive Director of Human Resources Ryan Moran, who acknowledged the achievements with board Vice President Todd McKinney.

Moran said under the leadership of Hinkle, the baseball team finished its regular season with an impressive 12-4 record in the PAC and an overall record of 14-6.

“For the first time since 2017, Perkiomen Valley earned a spot in the Final Four playoffs—thanks to the team’s hard work, determination, and commitment throughout the offseason,” Moran said. “Their relentless effort paid off in a historic way. With a commanding 12-1 victory over Pope John Paul II, PV captured its first-ever PAC Baseball Championship—and did so on our home turf. This incredible achievement is a testament to the players’ dedication and the strong leadership behind them.”

Team members honored were the following students:

  • Christopher Allen
  • Jonathan Boyd
  • Juliun Corropolese
  • Nicholas Cress
  • Rowan Dalton
  • Edward Feinberg
  • Christopher Horgan
  • Chase Kelly
  • Ryan King
  • Nathaniel Long
  • Chase Neff
  • Trevor Peterman
  • Braden Tighe
  • Kyle Tracey
  • Daniel Gormont
  • Lucas Aiken
  • Ethan McMenamin
  • Colin Roeser

The board also recognized baseball team members who will continue the sport in college:

  • Aidan Autovino (Mt. St. Mary’s)
  • Tyler Gilbert – (Penn State-Berks)
  • Andrew Keenan – (Washington College)
  • Connor McClelland – (York College)
  • Ryan McMenamin – (Widener University)
  • Liam McNeill –  (Lycoming)
  • John Ott –  (Messiah)
  • Michael Strechay – (MCCC)

The Perkiomen Valley softball team, led Marsilio and assistant coaches Jake Corropolese, Erin Schoenly, Taylor Hamm, Ashley Bangert, finished with an overall record of 24-4 — the second most wins in school history, Moran said.

“The team finished the PAC regular season as the No. 1 playoff seed, with an 11-2 record, and went on to defend their title as PAC Playoff Champions for the second year in a row! The team made history as back-to-back PAC2PAC Champions in 2024 and 2005,” Moran said. “In the PIAA District 1 6A Softball rankings, the team claimed first place in the regular season with a 17-2 record and a third place finish in the District Playoffs, securing our ticket to the biggest stage, the PIAA-6A State Championship, where we reached the Final Four.”

Moran said the softball team’s finish is the best finish in school history, and the first time the softball team has reached the state championship tournament since 2019.

“These girls have shown heart, hustle, and resilience,” Moran said. “They’ve supported each other like family and represented PV with pride and excellence—on and off the field.”

Recognized students were the following:

Senior Team Captains: Maci Strechay, Sammy Petersen

Juniors: Adrianna Corropolese, Mia Corropolese, Mae Dodson, Peyton Mears, Jacqueline Miceli, Lily Petaccio, Olivia Sharkey, Olivia Smith
