A Perkiomenville man was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Ridge Road in Salford Township on April 4, Pennsylvania State Police reported Tuesday morning.

Cody J. Kratz, 25, was ejected from his 1993 Mazda Miata along the 500 block of Ridge Road at 11 p.m.

VMSC Emergency Medical Services and Tylersport Fire Department personnel performed lifesaving measures on Kratz, but he was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Police said Kratz was driving southbound on Ridge Road, when he went off the roadway to the right, striking a tree. The car continued 33 feet, where it hit a utility pole, police said.

Then, the Mazda went another 37 feet, impacting a tree and coming to rest propped up against it on the driver side, facing west, police said. Kratz was found outside the wreck on the driver side, police said.
