  • Public Safety

Pennsylvania State Police at Skippack reported Tuesday morning that two rifles were found and seized at a Pennsburg Borough shopping center in December.

In a public information release report dated Dec. 5, 2024, at 2:55 p.m., Trooper Z. Long said that troopers responded to Pennsburg Square Shopping Center on the 400 block of Pottstown Avenue where two .22 Marlin Model 780 bolt-action rifles were found on the property.

The rifles are commonly used in small game hunting or for plinking around, and are ideal for novice and young shooters because it is lightweight.

Police did not specify if the rifles were found in the parking lot or inside a business of the shopping center. Tenants in the center include Weis Market, ACE Hardware, Grand View Health, Pennsburg Beer & Soda Mart, and Pizza Como & PC Pub.
