  • Things To Do

On the morning of April 26, individuals from across the region will come together at the Legacy Karate Academy in Royersford to do more than learn self-defense — they will rise together in support of confidence, empowerment, and community.

The “Rise Together” workshop, beginning at 9 a.m., is a two-hour self-defense class designed to help participants feel stronger, safer, and more connected.

Open to ages 12 and older and welcoming all genders, the event combines physical skills with a sense of shared purpose.

Hosted at Legacy Karate Academy, 32 N. Lewis Road, the workshop encourages a minimum $25 donation, with a portion of proceeds supporting the Victim Services Center of Montgomery County.

The center provides crucial resources and support to survivors of violence and trauma.

Advance registration is required by Friday and can be completed online at www.victimservicescenter.org/events/rise-together-a-self-defense-workshop-for-confidence-and-community

Taught by trained martial artists, the class focuses on practical skills while fostering an environment of mutual respect and empowerment.

To learn more, visit www.victimservicescenter.org/events, or contact Erin Millbourne directly at 610-277-0932.

For immediate support, Victim Services Center operates a 24/7 crisis line at 888-521-0985.
