The Perkiomen Pacers Walking Group, Lower Frederick Park Board and Bird Town Pennsylvania have flocked together for a "Free As A Bird” Trail Walk at Green Lane Park on April 27 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.
Loaner binoculars will be provided by Liberty Bird Alliance. The walk will start at the park office parking lot.
No registration required and the event is rain or shine.
According to the township, Lower Frederick is a member of Bird Town PA, which works to promote community-based conservation actions to create a healthier, more sustainable environment for birds, wildlife and people.
Green Lane Park is a 3,400-acre county-owned tract of open space. According to the township, the park’s large size and diverse land and water habitats make for a long and storied history for birdwatching in southeastern Pennsylvania.
More than 288 bird species have been documented in the park and surrounding areas, according to the township.
