State Sen. Tracy Pennycuick will host her 4th annual Youth Fishing Derby at Camp Wawa Park in Schwenksville on April 12 from 9 to 11 a.m, with the aim of promoting outdoor recreation, environmental education and family engagement.
“I am excited to once again host this annual event, which provides young anglers and their families with an opportunity to enjoy Pennsylvania’s natural resources,” said Pennycuick. “In addition to fishing, participants will have the chance to learn about our state’s diverse wildlife and the importance of conservation.”
The derby is open to all youth, and families are encouraged to attend. Whether experienced anglers or first-time fishers, all participants are welcome. Attendees are advised to bring their own fishing poles and bait to fully engage in the event, said a press release from Pennycuick’s office.
“This derby is a wonderful opportunity for families to get outside, enjoy nature, and learn more about our local wildlife and conservation efforts,” said Pennycuick. “I look forward to welcoming everyone for a memorable morning of fishing and learning.”
