The public is welcome to visit the tree at Lower Providence Community Library from Friday, Sept. 27 through Saturday, Oct. 5.
Rep. Joe Webster, in partnership with Montgomery County and the Montgomery County Coroner's Office, on Thursday morning will conduct a Witting Tree Dedication in memory of military veterans who have died by suicide.
A Witting Tree acknowledges the veteran-death-by-suicide rate and encourages discussion around suicide prevention. Seventeen dog tags will be placed on the tree to represent the daily number of veterans lost to suicide this year in the United States.
The event takes place at Lower Providence Community Library, 50 Parklane Dr, Eagleville at 10 a.m.
Webster, a retired U.S. Air Force colonel, will be joined by Montgomery County Coroner Dr. Janine Darby, Lower Providence Police Chief and veteran Mike Jackson, Lower Providence resident and veteran Graf Eggers, and Montgomery County Veteran Service Organization representative and veteran Ryan Fox

Other Veteran Suicide Prevention Week activities have included the Monday flag-raising at the Montgomery County Courthouse and the Tuesday documentary screening of “The Journey Home,” a film about one group of veterans, their community, and PTSD.
