The Perkiomen Valley area is home to many amazing activities. You don’t have to travel far to find entertainment right in your own backyard. Perk Valley Now brings you a new This Week Now edition to help you find some fun in our own communities. Check out some of the offerings coming up Sept. 16 to 22, 2024.

The 19th annual British Car Day has relocated to a new location! They’ll be hosting the Delaware Valley Classic car show on Saturday, Sept. 21, rain or shine, in Skippack Village, along Route 73 just east of Route 113. The events will run from 9 a.m. registration through 3 p.m. with award conclusions. For more information on the event, visit https://www.dvcmg.com/events/our-car-show/.

On Sunday, Sept. 22, Healthy Kids Running Series will host its first in a fall series of “Get Up and Go” events. Designed to be a “fun introduction into the running world” for kids of all ages, the nonprofit aims to improve children’s self-esteem through healthy living habits. The Evansburg State Park Mushroom Foray is slated for Sunday, Sept. 22 from 1 to 4 p.m. A free event open to all ages, though donations are accepted, will begin at Pavilion A at 1 p.m. Guides will assist visitors that need it, and at 3 p.m. there will be a chat about what was found, as well as a small picnic. Also on Sunday, Sept. 22 from 1 to 3:30 p.m., Pottery Bootcamp, for those ages 16 and over, will be held at Engage Art Studio, in Schwenksville. The fee is $140 per person, which includes the full session, introduction to wheel throwing, materials and supplies, live demonstrations and feedback, as well as a glazing session and firing of your creation. Have we mentioned that Sunday is especially busy this weekend in Perkiomen Valley? Another Sunday, Sept. 22 event will be held at the Farm, Home, and Youth Complex (formerly the 4-H Center) will host its annual fabric sale from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thankfully, the sale will also have hours on Thursday, Sept. 19 from 6 to 9 p.m., Friday, Sept. 20 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, Sept. 21 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Fabrics, quilting supplies, crafts, yarn, and patterns are just some of the wares that will be up for sale. The Center is located at 1015 Bridge Road in Collegeville.
