The summer may be “unofficially” over after the excitement of Labor Day Weekend now behind us, but there is still plenty of gorgeous weather in and around the Perkiomen Valley to get out and enjoy. Check out some of these fun events in our own communities from Sept. 3 to 8 with This Week Now!
On Tuesday, Sept. 3, the Perkiomen Valley Library at 290 Second St., Schwenksville, will host a guided painting class for “Let’s Go Camping” for those ages 14 and over. All materials are provided during this step-by-step paint instruction. The camping scene will be a wonderful piece of art to kick off your fall season. Registration is required. Yoga at the Perk will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 4 from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Perkiomen Watershed Conservancy, 1 W. Skippack Pike, Schwenksville. All ages and experience levels are invited to attend. Guests are asked to bring water, a yoga mat, and a towel. Depending on weather, the yoga session will be held in- or outdoors. Tickets can be purchased online here. Courses are $14 per person.
A Storytime Live event will be hosted at Kiddie Academy of Collegeville on Friday, Sept. 6 at 5 to 7 p.m. The location, at 301 Wartman Road in Collegeville, will offer families with children ages 2 and up a free event featuring “the magic of literature” with live storytelling. Refreshments will be provided. Registration for the fun-filled event of “stories that bring characters to life” is available online at https://kiddieacademy.com/academies/event/storytime-live/.
On Saturday, Sept. 7 from noon to 5 p.m., the Skippack Village will host its Food Truck Festival at 4059 Skippack Pike. Guests are invited to come out and enjoy outdoor dining with family, friends, and some tasty food offerings. A variety of food trucks will be on site for the purchase of meals and snacks.
St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, at 40 Spring Mount Road, in Schwenksville, will host the Saint Marry Feast on Saturday, Sept. 7 and Sunday, Sept. 8 with faith, food, fellowship, and families. From 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Attic Treasures will be hosted in all three annex rooms, as guests can purchase housewares, furniture, holiday décor, games, and more. Sunday, from 1 to 6 p.m., games, ethnic foods, a 50/50, DJ party, Chippy the Clown, and raffle baskets will abound, alongside a biergarten with the Phillies baseball game on television. Attic Treasures continues noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday, as well. For more information on the event, call 610-287-8156.
