A Chester County man has been accused by Upper Providence Township Police with exposing his genitals to another man in the hot tub area of L.A. Fitness last month.

On Monday, police charged Kareem Ali Hand, 42, of, East Fallowfield, with misdemeanor indecent exposure and open lewdness for the incident that occurred the morning of Sept. 9 at the 400 Front Street gym in the Collegeville section of the township, per a criminal complaint.

On Sept. 19 at 10:36 a.m., police were called to L.A. Fitness to meet with the victim, who wanted to report the Sept. 9 assault, police said.

According to the complaint, the victim was in the hot tub area of the gym when Hand came in and sat alongside the hot tub. Hand, police allege, started talking with the victim about Asian massage parlors and the size of male genitalia.

Police said the conversation continued, and the victim turned around and saw Hand with his genitals exposed. The victim asked Hand why he did that and Hand allegedly apologized and asked if it offended the victim, police said.

The victim told Hand he was offended and to stop antagonizing him, per the affidavit, and went to the locker room. There, police allege, Hand was staring at the victim through the mirror as he got changed.

Police said the victim reported Hand immediately to an employee.

On Sept. 30, at 9:14 a.m., police responded back to L.A. Fitness, due to the victim calling them again, per the affidavit. Upon arrival, police were able to identify Hand as the suspect, police said.

All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using public court records.
