Two men from New Jersey have been charged by Pennsylvania State Police at Skippack with felony counts of fleeing or attempting to elude police and receiving stolen property after being involved in a high-speed pursuit in a stolen car on I-476 South last month.

Luis Ivan Peralta, 25, and Alberto Gomez, 29, both of New Brunswick, are both free on $25,000 cash and $50,000 cash bonds, respectively, per court documents.

Peralta and Gomez each face the following additional misdemeanor charges: Two counts of recklessly endangering another person, resisting arrest, and evading arrest on foot, according to charging documents. Furthermore, Peralta faces two misdemeanor DUI charges and numerous summary traffic offenses, including doing 125 mph in a 60 mph zone, reckless driving, failure to use a turn signal four times, and improper tires.

Gomez is also charged with misdemeanor speeding in a 60 mph zone, per court documents.

Police said troopers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the stolen car at 1:43 a.m., but the driver failed to stop and a pursuit ensued.

Following a successful PIT (precision immobilization technique) maneuver, Peralta and Gomez were taken into custody at mile marker 302 in Towamencin Township, police said.

Both men have a preliminary hearing together on Nov. 4 at 9:30 a.m. before Magisterial District Judge Maureen C. Coggins.

All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using public court records.
