Lower Frederick Township, Lower Providence Township and Schwenksville Borough have each issued burn bans within the last week until further notice.

Lower Frederick's burn ban went into effect Oct. 15. The township will notify residents via the website and Facebook when the ban is lifted.

Furthermore, any current burn permits are no longer valid, per the township.

Once the ban is lifted, burn permits will be required and will be issued at the township building.

Over in Schwenksvile Borough, due to dry conditions, the borough issued a burn ban earlier this week until further notice.

Any outdoor burning, including the use of burn barrels or commercially manufactured fire pits, is prohibited until the ban is lifted, per Schwenksville Borough authorities.

Lower Providence Township posted on its Facebook that the ban is to prioritize safety of the community and prevent potential wildfires.

Police said a followup announcement would be made once the ban is lifted.

According to police, all outdoor burning activities, including campfires, bonfires, fire pits, and agricultural burning, are strictly prohibited in the township.
