Montgomery County has partnered with Fresh Artists, a local nonprofit that showcases the artwork of K–12 public school students, to produce the “Montco Votes” stickers that voters will receive at all 426 Montgomery County voting precincts when polls open on November 5.

After casting their ballot in-person on Election Day, voters will receive one of 45 unique sticker designs that were selected among submissions from more than 750 K–12 students from Norristown Area and Pottstown School Districts. With the prompt “My Time to Shine,” students created portraits of themselves as suns, which sit luminous atop the “Montco Votes!” tagline.

“Engaging our youngest residents in the civic process is always a priority in our work, which is why we hold Fresh Artists as such a valued partner,” said Jamila H. Winder, chair of the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners and vice chair of the County Board of Elections. “Fresh Artists is not only bringing beautiful art into our public spaces, but also introducing these students to local government and encouraging them to pursue their artistic talents. Soon, all of Montgomery County will see that talent on display.”

“So many Americans have been proudly wearing their ‘I Voted’ stickers in recent years, and I’m grateful to these talented Montgomery County students whose artwork has ensured that our County will have some of the best voter stickers in the country,” said Neil Makhija, Montgomery County commissioner and chair of the County Board of Elections. “It’s also wonderful that these kids will see themselves as part of such an important aspect of our citizenship.”

“Many of these students may not yet be of voting age, but this is a great way to introduce them to civics and local government,” said Thomas DiBello, Montgomery County commissioner. “There’s great power in lifting up our young people and celebrating their talents in a public way like this.”

Montgomery County has also partnered with Fresh Artists to create an art installation inside the new Justice Center, slated to open in late 2025. While the Justice Center is under construction, residents can preview the artwork of local Fresh Artists students on the fence along the perimeter of the construction site. The Montgomery County Public Defender’s Office also tapped Fresh Artists for an art installation in 2017.

“Our students are thrilled that their artwork will be seen by thousands of Montgomery County voters on the upcoming Election Day,” said Barbara Chandler Allen, president and founder of Fresh Artists. “Election Day is one of the most important days of the year for American citizens, and this is exactly the kind of project Fresh Artists prides itself on bringing to fruition.”
