According to Brendan Quinn of The Athletic, Scott O'Neil is going to be hired as the new CEO of Saudi-backed LIV Golf:

"O’Neil will replace Greg Norman, the original LIV CEO and architect of the breakaway league that reshaped the professional golf landscape during the last three years, according to a source briefed on the matter, who was granted anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly."

If as a form of self care you try to forget about past eras of Sixers basketball, you probably haven't thought about O'Neil for a while. He was the CEO of Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment — which owns both the Sixers and New Jersey Devils — from 2013 until his resignation in June of 2021.

As someone who is about as casual of a golf observer as possible — I'll watch Sundays when Tiger Woods is in contention — I have no issue with a competitor to the PGA tour, particularly if it pays the athletes more money. However, it's still hard to get past Mohammed bin Salman bankrolling this as a way to sportswash the reputation of the Saudi Arabian government.
