Charges have been filed in an attempted murder case in Hatfield, and police are asking for the public’s assistant in locating the suspect.

Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin R. Steele and Hatfield Police Chief William Tierney announced that arrest warrants have been issues on the charges of Criminal Attempt-Murder of the First Degree, Aggravated Assault-Attempt to Cause Serious Bodily Injury and other related charges for Joshua Ronan, 30, the unit block of East Main Street of Lansdale. The defendant is charged related to the Nov. 5, 2024, attempted murder of Mark Miller on Cabin Road in Hatfield.

The attempted murder happened around 11:11 p.m. when Hatfield Police Department were called for a possibly overdose. They arrived to find Miller unresponsive in the driveway of the Cabin Road residence with blunt force trauma and bleeding to his head. Officers gave Miller Narcan for the possible believed overdose, and he was transported to Grandview Hospital.

A joint investigation by the Hatfield Police Department and the Montgomery County Detective Bureau found that Miller and Ronan were both at the residence that night visiting friends. They got into an argument in the driveway of the house, and when residents were made aware of the altercation, they went outside to check on them.

Outside, they found Ronan standing over an unresponsive Miller, who was bleeding from his head and face, and Ronan with blood on his shirt.

Ronan was driven to his house by one of the residents after the altercation, and during a search of the vehicle, detectives found a red brick wrapped in a balaclava mask on the floor of the car where Ronan had been sitting. The brick matches the injuries sustained by Miller.

If anyone sees Ronan, do not approach and call 911. Ronan is a white male, with blond hair. He is 6-feet tall and weighs 185 pounds.

The District Attorney’s Office is offering a $1,000 reward for information on this defendant that leads to his apprehension. For anyone with tips as to the whereabouts of Ronan, call Montgomery County Detectives at 610-226-5553 or Hatfield Police at 215-855-0903.
