Multiple fire agencies on scene of brush fire sparked by downed power lines Tuesday night

Multiple fire agencies are on scene of a large brush fire reportedly sparked from downed electrical lines on the 200 block of Lovers Lane in Upper Providence Township Tuesday afternoon.

Numerous ATVs used in fighting brush fires have been called to the scene, as well as three medics from Friendship Fire Company Ambulance. 

At 4 p.m., units were awaiting PECO to address live wires. Winds were reported at 10 mph from the west with 26 mph gusts, per Montgomery County emergency radio reports.

Responding units include PA DCNR State fire warden, Collegeville Fire Co., Limerick Fire Department, Perkiomen Township Fire Co, Upper Providence Township Fire, Trappe Fire Co., Worcester Fire Co., Skippack Fire Co., and Royersford Fire Department. Fire units from Chester County have also been called to the scene, including Kimberton Fire, Phoenixville Fire, Ringing Hills and Valley Forge Fire companies. 

Aid from Towamencin Vol. Fire Co. was called in around 5:45 p.m.,  per emergency dispatch notes.

North Penn Area Goodwill was also on scene to provide refreshments to firefighters.

Avoid the area of Lovers Lane near Sowers Avenue.
