A Skippack Township man has been charged with felony counts of aggravated assault by vehicle and accidents involving personal injury for his alleged role in a hit-and-run accident in Worcester Township last week, which resulted in him flipping his pickup in a separate accident two miles from the scene.

Eberto Morales-Miguel, 24, of the 4400 block of Skippack Pike, was charged and arraigned on the two felonies, as well as misdemeanor charges of simple assault, accidents involving damage to an attended vehicle, and DUI, according to charging documents.

Morales-Miguel, who also lists a residence on the 8900 block of New Jersey Avenue, Wildwood Crest NJ, also faces summary charges of failing to stop and render aid, driving without a license, speeding, failure to drive in a single lane, failure to obey traffic control devices, per court records.

According to court records, Morales-Miguel posted $5,000 cash bail on Nov. 1.

On Oct. 29, at 6:32 p.m., police said a two-vehicle crash occurred at Valley Forge and Water Street roads in Worcester Township, with both vehicles ending up on the shoulder of Valley Forge Road facing north.

Police said people were standing around the vehicles, which sustained heavy damage. Debris was also scattered in the roadway.

One of the victims told police that a white 4-door pickup truck with “Michael Wells Landscaping” on the side had struck both cars and fled the scene, northbound on Valley Forge Road, per the affidavit.

As police assessed the scene, they were notified of a single-vehicle rollover crash involving a white 2018 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck two miles away on Stump Hall Road, police said.

When EMS and fire personnel arrived on scene of the hit-and-run crash, Pennsylvania State troopers headed to the rollover crash, per the complaint. Upon arrival, the truck described as fleeing the scene was found on its roof in the middle of the road, police said.

Police found the driver, identified as Morales-Miguel, sitting on a rock near the crash scene, per the complaint, and he was immediately arrested.

Police said he had a strong odor of alcohol emanating from his breath and person, he had bloodshot, glassy eyes, and he was unsteady on his feet. Morales-Miguel was detained inside a patrol car.

Numerous empty Modelo Beer cans were found in the truck and scattered across the roadway, police said. Morales-Miguel allegedly admitted to drinking at a friend’s house prior to driving his truck, per the complaint.

Once a secondary police unit arrived to the rollover crash, troopers returned to the hit-and-run crash, where it was determined that one victim had a possible broken leg and another victim had neck and back pain, police said. Both were transported from the scene.

Morales-Miguel was taken to police barracks where he was read his rights and consented to a blood draw to determine BAC, per the affidavit. He was then taken to Einstein Medical Center for evaluation before arraignment, police said.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 22, 2025 at 2 p.m. before Magisterial District Judge Adam T. Katzman.

All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using public court records.
