Tri-axle dump truck, car collide on Gravel Pike, 2 injured Monday afternoon

Two people were transported from the scene of a two-vehicle accident with heavy entrapment on North Gravel Pike at Kratz Road in Upper Frederick Township Monday afternoon, involving a tri-axle dump truck.

Reports from the scene showed a tree through the cab of the dump truck with the truck laying on its side.

PECO is on scene, cutting up trees and addressing a severed utility pole. Part of the pole is hanging on power wires above the roadway.

Emergency crews completed the rescue in under a half-hour, per reports from the scene. The call came in at 2:05 p.m.

Roads are closed in all directions at the intersection; Montgomery County emergency radio dispatch reports North Gravel Pike/Route 29 will be closed between Salford Station and Deep Creek roads for an extended period of time.

Lower Frederick Township Police, Upper Frederick Township Fire, Lower Frederick Fire, Red Hill Fire Co., and Upper Salford Fire were on scene. 

Plymouth Community Ambulance Association and Gilbertsville Area Community Ambulance responded for EMS.
