Well, Halloween has come and gone (and so has your diet!) The Thanksgiving and Christmas season is upon us and there are plenty of events popping up throughout the suburban Philadelphia region for all ages and interests. Find out what’s happening in your community with This Week Now, highlighting some of the best options from Monday, Nov. 4 to Sunday, Nov. 10.


Stand-Up Comedy in Lansdale with Rich Vos

Well Crafted Beer Co., located at 310 Madison St. in Lansdale, will kick off its new Well Crafted Comedy Night with “The Legend” Rich Vos, with opening comedian and Lansdale Tavern co-owner Buddy Harris, on Thursday night from 8:30 to 10. Doors at 7 p.m. Buy tickets here.

A Jazzy Saturday Night

Ursinus College’s Lenfest Theater will play host to a Nov. 9 concert of the Ursinus College Jazz Ensemble, directed by Brian Langdon, at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. The concert features dynamic arrangements and soulful improvisations that showcase the talent and passion of our exceptional musicians. From classic standards to contemporary interpretations and some of your favorite popular tunes, immerse yourself in the rich sounds and infectious rhythms that define the jazz tradition.   

Scam Prevention Awareness

On Thursday, Nov. 7 at 6 p.m., Doylestown Township Police will hold an informative presentation on prevalent scams and crimes that arise during the holiday season at its station at 425 Wells Road. These scams include phishing, grandparent scams, cryptocurrency crimes, gift card and computer scams, and recovery. The event is free and in-person only. Featured speakers include Doylestown Township detectives, Central Bucks Regional Victims Services Unit, and the Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General.

Casino Night 

Lantium’s seventh annual Casino Night to benefit Bring Hope Home is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 9 from 6 to 10 p.m. at Lantium’s headquarters, 721 Arbor Way in Blue Bell. Tickets are $100 per person, and include food, beer, wine, and $100 in “play” chips. Fun games, raffles, food, and drinks will entertain adults all evening, with all proceeds going to Bring Hope Home and its goal to benefit local families with cancer. Library Anniversary Reception 

The Horsham Township Library, located at 435 Babylon Road in Horsham, will celebrate its anniversary with a library reception on Saturday, Nov. 9 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. No registration is required for this event, and there is no cost to attend. The event will feature live music, light refreshments, raffles, and trivia all coordinated by the Friends of Horsham Library. This is aimed to be an adult event, as the library will also host a children’s celebration earlier that day, with Lolly Hopwood, dancing, goody bags, and a Happy Birthday sing-along.

Pinkalicious: The Musical 

The Keswick Theater in Glenside will play host to this beloved book character come-to-life with “Pinkalicious: The Musical” on Sunday, Nov. 10 at 1 p.m. Doors open at noon, and tickets range from $25 to $39 in advance, or $30 to $44 the day of th show. All ages are welcome, though those 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult. The theater is located at 291 N. Keswick Ave., Glenside.
