Methacton High School has hit a home run in its baseball championship pursuits after a decade.
According to The Mercury, the Methacton Warriors baseball team beat Phoenixville’s Phantoms Thursday night in Boyertown to clinch the Pioneer Athletic Conference championship, the first one in a 10 years.
The Warriors were successful in keeping a big goose egg on the scoreboard for Phoenixville during the matchup. In the end, Methacton was victorious in a 2-0 romp, per the report, thanks mainly to sophomore pitcher Will Christian’s two-hit complete game shutout that came down to a K.
Ironically, the Warriors battled the Phantoms last year, unsuccessfully, after 13 innings to end in a 5-2 loss.
