(The following information was provided by the Montgomery County Office of Communications.)

Montgomery County residents can experience Revolutionary War demonstrations and fanfare May 18-19 at Pennypacker Mills. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on May 18 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 19, the grounds will transform into an American Revolution-era military encampment — much like the Continental Army camp set up at Pennypacker Mills in 1777.

"And then I said, 'Redcoats? More like DEADcoats!'"

In its second year, this family-friendly event is free to attend (suggested $2 donation) and features a variety of activities for visitors of all ages, including

· Dozens of reenactors portraying soldiers and camp followers

· Firing and maneuvering drills

· Cavalry demonstrations

· Food and beer available for purchase

· Presentations from guest lecturers

· Special exhibition on merchant marine “Privateers” from the AWI Privateer Museum

· Colonial brewing demonstration with the Regimental Brewmeister

· Crafts and activities for children

· Colonial fife and drum music

· Music from Charlie Zahm (Sunday, May 19)
